The Chicago International Film Festival announced this year’s Industry Days will be held virtually for a global audience, from October 12-18, 2020.

Alan Parker, the British director whose exceptionally wide-ranging oeuvre ranged from “Bugsy Malone” to “Evita,” died Friday morning following a lengthy illness, the British Film Institute has confirmed. He was 76.

Indie films Booksmart, and Rafiki are among the winners of the 31st GLAAD Media Awards held for the first time as a virtual ceremony. Booksmart won the award for Outstanding Film – Wide Release and Rafiki won for Outstanding Film – Limited Release. The award for Outstanding Documentary went to State of Pride.
