The film tells the incredible true story of Anthony Robles (played by Jharrel Jerome), an American wrestler who won the 2011 NCAA individual wrestling national championship despite being born with only one leg.
Documentarian Rory Kennedy will receive the Pennebaker Award at the Ninth Annual Critics Choice Documentary Awards on Sunday, November 10, 2024. The late Critics Choice Lifetime Achievement Award winner D. A. Pennebaker inspired the name of the award, and Chris Hegedus, Pennebaker’s producing partner and widow, will present it.

The film had its world premiere at the Bentonville Film Festival.

The film stars Barbie Ferreira as a young woman who searches for her estranged father, Bob Trevino, online and forms a bond with a different man of the same name played by John Leguizamo.
Wrapping up on October 20th, the 25th edition of the Woodstock Film Festival announced the winners for this year’s jury award. My Dead Friend Zoe, directed by Kyle Hausmann Stokes won the Gigantic Pictures Award For Best Feature Narrative, along with the Haskell Wexler Award For Best Cinematography, and an Honorable Mention for the Best Narrative Editing Award.

Selected as the UK’s official submission for the 97th Academy Awards, Santosh marks the feature film directorial debut of British-Indian director Sandhya Suri. The film follows a young police officer investigating the murder of a low-caste girl in the rural badlands of India.
