- Time Commitment: 10–15 hours/week

- Eligibility: Current undergraduate or graduate students in Journalism, Communications, Film Studies, English, or related fields
Program Overview
The VIMooZ Editorial Internship offers students with an interest in independent film and digital journalism the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in editorial writing and publishing. Interns will contribute original content to VIMooZ.com, including film reviews, festival coverage, interviews, and industry news.
Interns will learn the inner workings of a film publication and develop a strong portfolio of published work while gaining exposure to the independent film world, including the opportunity to cover film festivals and industry events (virtually or in-person with press credentials, where applicable).
Intern Responsibilities
- Write and publish original articles including film reviews, filmmaker interviews, festival previews, and breaking news
- Assist with research, transcription, and formatting for Q&As and interview features
- Attend virtual press screenings or in-person festival events (when available and approved)
- Support editorial planning and content development, including brainstorming topics and contributing to the content calendar
- Proofread and edit drafts in coordination with VIMooZ magazine editors
- Meet deadlines and revise work based on editorial feedback

Program Overview
The Digital/Social Media Internship offers college students a hands-on opportunity to learn the ins and outs of digital marketing, social media strategy, and content creation in the independent film and entertainment journalism space. Interns will play a key role in shaping our online voice while developing valuable media skills for the modern communications landscape.
Intern Responsibilities
- Assist with managing and scheduling posts for Instagram, TikTok, X/Twitter, Threads, and Facebook
- Brainstorm and create engaging multimedia content (reels, carousels, trending TikToks, quote graphics, polls, etc.)
- Edit and repurpose existing video interviews and reviews for vertical platforms (Instagram Reels, TikTok)
- Track and report on post analytics and trends to help refine strategy
- Attend (virtually or in person, where available) film festivals or screenings and help create live or post-event coverage
- Research and suggest trends, hashtags, and growth tactics for each platform
- Help maintain a consistent tone and visual identity across all platforms
- Engage with followers, comment on relevant accounts, and participate in community building

- Knowledge of social media platforms, especially Instagram, TikTok, and newer platforms – Bluesky, Mastodon
- Creative thinker with a sense for trending formats and visual storytelling
- Experience with simple video editing (CapCut, InShot, Premiere Rush, etc.)
- Interest in entertainment, film, news trend, and journalism
- Organized, self-motivated, and responsive communicator
- Bonus: Familiarity with Google Docs, Slack
