2011 Palm Springs International Film Festival Announces African Cinema Program and Films In Competition

R.I.P.: Writer, Director Blake Edwards

Blake Edwards, a writer and director behind such hits like “Victor/Victoria” (1982) “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” (1961) “The Pink Panther” (1963) and “Pink Panther” movies, died Wednesday night in Santa Monica, Calif. He was 88. His publicist, Gene Schwam, said the cause was complications of pneumonia. Mr. Edwards’s wife, the actress Julie Andrews, and other family members were at his side at St. John’s Health Center, Mr. Schwam said. Read more …
