David Lynch Named AFI Fest Guest Artistic Director
AFI FEST presented by Audi announced today that award-winning filmmaker and artist David Lynch will serve as its first-ever Guest Artistic Director. AFI FEST 2010 will take place November 4 through 11 in Hollywood, California at the historic Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, the Mann Chinese 6 theatres, the Egyptian Theatre and the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel.

Swedish Film “The Girl” Opens in the US
Olive Films will present the US Theatrical release of THE GIRL, a film by Fredrik Edfeldt. THE GIRL premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival, and was selected as one of ten films in the Variety Critic’s Choice program at the 2009 Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. Zeitgeist Films will present the US theatrical release of VISION, a film by Margaretha von Trotta. 2010 New York Surf Film Festival Announces International Film Program
The New York Surf Film Festival(NYSFF), presented by JetBlue Airways and The Dominican Republic, has put the final touches on this year’s features program. Brownlow, Coppola, Godard and Wallach to Receive Academy’s Governors Awards
Francis Ford Coppola The Board of Governors of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences voted last night to present the Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award to producer-director Francis Ford Coppola and Honorary Awards to historian and preservationist Kevin Brownlow, director Jean-Luc Godard and actor Eli Wallach. All four awards will be presented at the Academy’s 2nd Annual Governors Awards dinner on Saturday, November 13, at the Grand Ballroom at Hollywood & Highland Center®.

Oscar-wining actor Ernest Borgnine Featured in Indie Film “Enemy Mind”
Enemy Mind, a science fiction-style film written, produced and directed by a Coachella Valley-based cast and crew, is now available on DVD. The film was shot on location in the Salton Sea area of Imperial Valley in early 2010, and completed on a shoestring budget.
