The Teachers’ Lounge by German director İlker Çatak is the winner of the LUX European Audience Film Award voted on by the European public and the members of the European Parliament. Johannes Duncker who co-wrote the screenplay with İlker Çatak, accepted the Award at a ceremony in the European Parliament in Brussels.
The German film Sensitive Content by Narges Kalhor walked away with the €20,000 Saxon Film Promotion Prize at the 36th Filmfest Dresden international short film festival in Dresden, Germany. The jury commented, “The winning film interweaves found footage, animation and sound in a skillful and precise way, taking the viewer to the scene of the action. Who is allowed to show themselves, who can act and who is denied the opportunity to look and participate? The film powerfully denounces patriarchal structures and shows the fearless struggle of women. In terms of the form and content, the jury was completely captivated from the very first second.”
