Toronto International Film Festival unveiled its 2024 Platform lineup featuring 10 World Premieres from 17 countries. The Platform program opens with Daniela Forever’s Nacho Vigalondo starring Henry Golding (Crazy Rich Asians) as a bereaved man who enrolls in a clinical trial for a drug that allows him to reunite with his lost lover.
HBO debuted the official trailer for Elizabeth Taylor: The Lost Tapes, a documentary on one of the last stars of classical Hollywood cinema, Elizabeth Taylor. The documentary features Taylor’s unreleased interview from 1964, with 40 hours of recording of the actress illustrating her life and career. The documentary is directed by award-winning filmmaker of ‘American Teen’ and ‘The Kid Stays in the Picture’, Nanette Burstein.
Aude Léa Rapin’s Planet B (Planète B) will open the 39th edition of Venice Critics’ Week (Settimana Internazionale della Critica), the independent and parallel section of the Venice International Film Festival, taking place August 28 to September 7, 2024. Set in the future, the French film Planet B follows an activist pursued by the state who vanishes without a trace, and when she awakens, she finds herself trapped in an entirely unfamiliar world: Planet B.
Films from directors Angelina Jolie, Jacques Audiard, Edward Berger, Gia Coppola, Mike Leigh, Morgan Neville, Walter Salles, Athina Rachel Tsangari, and Jia Zhang-Ke to name a few are among this year’s lineup of 63 films in the Gala and Special Presentations programs at the 49th edition of the Toronto International Film Festival.

Utopia revealed a new theatrical trailer for the Canadian psychological thriller film by director Pascal Plante (Nadia, Butterfly; Fake Tattoos), ‘Red Rooms’. The chilling film tells the story of a woman who becomes obsessed with the trial of a serial killer connected to a series of murder from the dark web.
The Rock Horror Film Festival in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, is back for the fifth edition with an exciting selection of 50 films from 17 countries in six categories: Sinister Features, Bizarre Featurettes, Strange Docs, Macabre Shorts, Haunted Brazil and Pills of Fear.

Strand Releasing unveiled the trailer for ‘I’ll Be Your Mirror’, a drama film from director Bradley Rust Gray. The film previously premiered at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival under the title ‘Blood’ where the film won the Special Jury Award for Uncompromising Artistic Vision. Carla Juri (Blade Runner 2049, Brimstone) stars as the lead role of a grieving woman who just lost her husband, traveling to Japan to find recovery.
