The Hico-based Billy the Kid Film Festival announced the films and events for the 5th edition of the film festival taking place November 3-5. The debut feature film Thanks to the Hard Work of the Elephants from actor-turned writer/director Bryce Hodgson has gone to camera in Toronto. The film, which is based on a true story, stars Hunter Dillon (Riceboy Sleeps, To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before) and newcomer Kevin Nguyen in title roles and also features Fred Nguyen Khan (The Sympathizer), Tony Nappo (Four Brothers, Saw II), Ryan Mcdonald (Seven Veils, The King Tide) and musician Kimberly Ha.

AFI FEST Guest Artistic Director Greta Gerwig has revealed the five films she has curated for this year’s 37th edition of festival taking place in Los Angeles. Films include All That Jazz, An American In Paris, A Matter Of Life And Death, Pee-wee’s Big Adventure and Wings of Desire. Gerwig will introduce select films including A Matter Of Life And Death, as well as Pee-wee’s Big Adventure, which is set to screen in the iconic TCL Chinese Theatre on Thursday, October 26.
