The South Korean film Decision to Leave is the top winner with the Florida Film Critics Circle, winning four awards including Best International Film of 2022, Best Director for Park Chan-wook plus Best Original Screenplay along with co-writer Jeong Seo-kyeong and Best Cionematography for Kim Ji-yong.

The Woman King was named Best Film of 2022 by the Black Film Critics Circle, besting critics favorite Everything Everywhere All At Once which came in 4th. Other top honors went to Brendan Fraser for Best Actor for The Whale; Danielle Deadwyler for Best Actress for Till and Ke Huy Quan for Best Supporting Actor for Everything Everywhere All At Once.

Epic Pictures revealed the official trailer and release date for The Tomorrow Job, Bruce Wemple’s high-tension, time-travelling action-thriller.

Janus Films revealed the official US trailer No Bears (خرس نیست), the Iranian drama directed by imprisoned Iranian filmmaker Jafar Panahi. The film which was secretly filmed in Iran, stars Panahi along with Naser Hashemi, Vahid Mobaseri, Bakhtiyar Panjei, Mina Kavani, and Reza Heydari, and tells two parallel love stories in which the lovers struggle with hidden and unavoidable obstacles.

The Nevada Film Critics Society announced its 2022 award winners with top honors for Best Film going to She Said directed by Maria Schrader. The film also nabbed the award for best adapted screenplay.

Sight and Sound, the BFI’s international film magazine chose Charlotte Wells’ Aftersun, which recently won 7 BIFAs as the Best Film of the Year. Paul Mescal and newcomer Frankie Corio give astonishing performances as a father and daughter on holiday in Turkey in the late 1990s, in this moving and reflective feature debut. Alice Diop’s Saint Omer came in at 2nd place and Park Chanwook’s DECISION TO LEAVE in 3rd place.

Megan Fox (Till Death, Transformers, New Girl) and Michele Morrone (365 Days) will star in the new sci-fi thriller Subservience from Millennium Media. Fox will rejoin her Till Death director, S.K. Dale, with a screenplay written by Will Honley (Escape Room: Tournament of Champions) and April Maguire (Lost Girls). Production will start filming at the Bulgarian Nu Boyana Studio on January 7th.
