Now in its 27th year, the Stony Brook Film Festival returns to Staller Center for the Arts, live and in-person this year, from July 21-30, 2022 showcasing 38 films from over 28 countries.

IFC Midnight released the official trailer for She Will, the award-winning psychological horror film directed by Charlotte Colbert, making her directorial debut. The movie screened at notable film festivals around the world including the London Film Festival, Fantastic Fest, Sitges, and Thessaloniki; and won the Golden Leopard for Best First Film at Locarno Film Festival.

Kino Lorber will release Mounia Akl’s directorial debut Costa Brava, Lebanon, a keen and darkly comic commentary on Lebanon’s waste crisis and unsettled political landscape. Kino Lorber is planning a theatrical release on July 15.

Ahead of the World Premiere at Tribeca Film Festival, the official trailer debuted for Don’t Make Me Go, the indie drama film starring John Cho and Mia Isaac. John Cho stars a single father with a terminal illness who convinces his daughter played by Mia Isaac to accompany him on a road trip to attend his college reunion. Also starring in the film are Mitchell Hope, Jemaine Clement, Stefania LaVie Owen, and Kaya Scodelario.

Directed by Leland Montgomery, the indie gay romance drama Hotter Up Close starring Christopher Matias Aguila (The Non Essentials) makes its LA Premiere at Dances with Films film festival on June 13, 2022.

IFC Films will release Vesper, the sci-fi thriller directed by Lithuania’s Kristina Buozyte and France’s Bruno Samper. The film will premiere next month at the Crystal Globe Competition of the 56th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. IFC Films

FeFF is a competitive international women’s film festival that provides an exclusive showcase for Canadian and foreign women and gender-diverse directors.

Set in near-future Phnom Penh, Karmalink, the Cambodian sci-fi thriller directed by Jake Wachtel, will be released in the US theatrically in major cities and on VOD in the US and Canada on Friday, July 15.

Greenwich Entertainment debuted the official trailer for Accepted, the feature documentary that looks at Ivy League college admissions, putting under the spotlight – TM Landry, a controversial school in Louisiana that sends its graduates to elite universities.

Directed by Oscar-nominees Rachel Grady and Heidi Ewing, and executive produced by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Ronan Farrow, the documentary film Endangered tells the story of journalists at the forefront of a dangerous culture war over free speech. The documentary debuts Tuesday, June 28 (9:00-10:30 p.m. ET/PT) on HBO.
