The documentary premiered to critical and audience acclaim at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival and won both the Audience Award in the U.S. Documentary competition, and the Festival Favorite Award.
The 48th Seattle International Film Festival, will be held April 14-24, 2022, screening 262 films representing 80 countries, including 107 narrative features, 41 documentaries, three archival films, two works-in-progress, and 107 short films.
The 65th annual San Francisco International Film Festival will make its return to theaters in person, featuring more than 130 films from 56 countries, including 16 World and 10 North American premieres. The Festival will also celebrate cinematic icon Michelle Yeoh with a special tribute to be presented by critically acclaimed actor Sandra Oh. The 2022 Festival will run April 21–May 1.

This year’s festival will introduce 26 features and 11 shorts, a total of 39 directors, 21 of which are women, to filmgoers in theaters at both FLC and MoMA.

The indie darling CODA won Best Picture at the 94th annual Academy Awards along with Best Supporting Actor for Troy Kotsur and Adapted Screenplay for Siân Heder. The film is a first on many levels, the first film by a streaming platform – Apple, and Sundance Film Festival debuting film to win the award for Best Film.
