The 15th edition of the BFI Future Film Festival announced the winners of the Awards with talented young filmmakers aged 16-25 that took home prizes include Adekemi Roluga for Best New Talent for Exhale; Florence Winter Hill for Best Film for The Gospel According to Gail; and Will Wightman for Best Director for Heart Failure.
Aftershock, from directors Paula Eiselt and Tonya Lewis Lee, which won the Sundance Film Festival’s U.S. Documentary Special Jury Award for Impact for Change upon its debut there last month has been acquired by Disney’s Onyx Collective and ABC News. Apple will re-release CODA in theaters for a limited theatrical run following its history-making Academy Award nominations, including a nomination for Best Picture. The film will be presented in major cities across the U.S. and London, free of charge and with open captions, beginning Friday, February 25 through Sunday, February 27, 2022.
