IFC Films acquired the thriller film Catch the Fair One from director Josef Kubota Wladyka (Manos Sucias, Narcos), starring real-life professional boxer, Kali “K.O.” Reis, in a raw breakout performance. Reis is the first Indigenous fighter to win the International Boxing Association middleweight crown and is currently the WBA Super lightweight champion. The film also stars Daniel Henshall, Tiffany Chu, Michael Drayer, Shelito Vincent, Lisa Emery, Kimberly Guerrero, and Kevin Dunn.

Sundance Film Festival Director Tabitha Jackson issued new updates on the upcoming Sundance Film Festival, scheduled for January 20–30, 2022. One of the major changes will be a requirement that all participants attending the Festival, or Sundance-affiliated events, in person in Utah to be fully vaccinated.
