Sony Pictures Classics released the new trailer for Nine Days directed by Edson Oda and starring Winston Duke, Zazie Beetz, Benedict Wong, Bill Skårsgard, Tony Hale, David Rysdahl, along with Arianna Ortiz. The film which world premiered at the Sundance Film Festival is scheduled to be released in early 2021.
The new documentary, “Trapped: Cash Bail in America” explores the growing movement to end the inherent economic and racial inequalities of cash bail while highlighting victims impacted by an unjust system, the tireless campaigners fighting for criminal justice reform, and a bail industry lobbying to maintain the status quo. Philippe Lacôte’s sophomore feature, Night of the Kings has been chosen as the Ivory Coast submission for the 93rd Academy Awards. The film premiered at the Venice Film Festival and went on to screen at the Toronto International Film Festival and New York Film Festival. Night of the Kings will be released by NEON, with plans to be announced at a later date.
The 28th Hamptons International Film Festival announced their award winners at a virtual ceremony. This Is Not a Burial, It’s a Resurrection, directed by Lemohang Jeremiah Mosese, won the Award for Best Narrative Feature and Collective (Colectiv), directed by Alexander Nanau, received the Award for Best Documentary Feature.

Opening the festival is “I Used to Go Here” directed by Kris Rey, featuring Gillian Jacobs and Jemaine Clement, a heartfelt crowd-pleaser about a 30-something writer who should be celebrating her success, but with all of her friends getting married and having kids, she feels like she’s missing out.
