    Following a successful world premiere at the most recent edition of DOC NYC and a sold-out screening at the Havana Film Festival, Los Últimos Frikis, the debut documentary feature by Nicholas Brennan, has been selected to participate in the Documentary Achievement Award competition at the 37th edition of the Miami Film Festival, taking place March 6-15, and at the 21st annual Havana Film Festival New York, running April 27-May 5.

    Hulu announced today that Parasite, winner of the Best Picture at this year’s Oscar, will be exclusively available for streaming beginning Wednesday, April 8. Parasite, from director Bong Joon Ho took home four Oscars including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay and Best International Feature Film. The film also won the Golden Globe for Best Foreign Language Film, the SAG Award for Best Ensemble Cast and the Palme D’or, the top prize at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival.

    The Berlin International Film Festival has officially suspended the Silver Bear – Alfred Bauer Prize, after published reports that Alfred Bauer, after whom the award is named, was an active high-ranking Nazi. The management of the Berlinale has now commissioned the “Institute for Contemporary History” to academically research the context of Alfred Bauer’s function during the Nazi era. For the 70th anniversary of the festival, the Berlinale 2020 will award a special prize: The Silver Bear – 70th Berlinale.
