The Polish premiere of “The wind. A documentary thriller,” an emotional story about the “halny” wind – one of the most unpredictable winds in the Polish mountains, directed by Michał Bielawski, will open the 59th Krakow Film Festival on May 26th. The film will be showcased as a part of the international documentary competition and the Polish competition.
The 12th Annual Las Vegas Film Festival will spotlight a mix of feature films and documentaries that have been favorites on the international festival circuit, as well as films with Las Vegas ties, including a documentary about The Amazing Johnathan, and Robin Greenspun’s personal portrait of local businesswoman Amy Ayoub. Additionally, one of the documentaries, Knock Down the House, follows the campaigns of four progressive women who ran against incumbents in the elections last fall, including Amy Vilela who ran for Congress in Nevada’s 4th Congressional District in the U.S. House.
The second annual What The Fest!? is over, and Zack Lipovsky & Adam B. Stein’s FREAKS, which made its New York Premiere at the festival was voted winner of the Audience Award. FREAKS tells the warped tale of Chloe (Lexy Kolker), a young girl sheltered by her father (Emile Hirsch) from the world outside their door… until an ice cream man (Bruce Dern) tries to lure her out of her safe haven.

Dead by Dawn International Horror Film Festival, returns to Filmhouse, in Edinburgh, Scotland, for it’s 26th Edition, April 18 to 21 with cult favorite, director Jeff Lieberman as the Guest of Honor. Jeff will host a retrospective of his films Blue Sunshine, Remote Control, Just Before Dawn, Squirm and Satan’s Little Helper.

Joyce; and starring Alec Baldwin, Josh Charles (The Good Wife) and Morena Baccarin (Deadpool, Gotham). Framing John Delorean will World Premiere at 2019 Tribeca Film Festival on April 30, 2019, and released in select theaters and VOD on June 7th, 2019.
The Farewell, directed by Lulu Wang will screen at the 2019 San Francisco International Film Festival as a special Centerpiece event on Thursday, April 18 at the historic Castro Theatre. A crowd favorite during its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival, the film is based on an “actual lie,” as labeled by director and screenwriter Lulu Wang.
Now in its third year, the 2019 edition of DocLands Documentary Film Festival kicks off Thursday, May 2 with the World Premiere of RUNNER; director Bill Gallagher and film subject Guor Marial will be in attendance. The four-day festival will showcase 44 films from 14 countries, with 36 filmmakers in attendance. The Closing Night Film will be the Bay Area Premiere of THE WEIGHT OF WATER with Emmy Award winning director Michael Brown and film subject Erik Weihenmayer attending.
The Ashland Independent Film Festival announced its lineup of over 150 films for the eighteenth annual festival, April 11-15, 2019, in Ashland, Oregon.
The Florida Film Festival will screen 184 films representing 41 countries for the 28th Annual Festival, April 12-21, 2019, in Maitland and Winter Park, Florida. The festival will open with Woman in Motion, directed by Todd Thompson, a fasciniation documentary on Nichelle Nichols who played Lieutenant Uhura, the communications officer aboard the Starship Enterprise
Tribeca Film Festival award-winner Diane, directed by Kent Jones, and exec-produced by Martin Scorsese will open in theaters on March 29. Diane starring Mary Kay Place, Jake Lacy, Estelle Parsons, Andrea Martin, Deirdre O’Connell, Phyllis Somerville, Glynis O’Connor, and Joyce Van Patten won the awards for Best Narrative Feature, Best Cinematography and Best Screenplay at Tribeca Film Festival.
The feature length documentary film Ai Weiwei: Yours Truly, directed by Cheryl Haines, has its World Premiere special Marquee Presentation screening during the San Francisco International Film Festival 2019, on Sunday, April 14th at the Castro Theatre.
