Marla Gibbs and Aaron Pierre have been added to the list of honorees at the 7th American Black Film Festival (ABFF) Honors. ABFF Honors will also celebrate the community of Altadena, paying tribute to its residents and their extraordinary contributions to Black history and culture.

Directed by Bruce David Klein, the documentary Liza: A Truly Terrific Absolutely True Story focuses on the award-winning iconic performer Liza Minnelli’s life starting in the 1970s, just after the tragic death of her mother Judy Garland.

Dune: Part Two led the the nominations for the 2024 Online Film Critics Society Awards in 9 categories including Best Picture, and Best Directing for Denis Villeneuve. The Brutalist followed closely with 8 nominations including Best Picture, Best Directing for Brady Corbet, and Best Actor for Adrien Brody.

Jane Schoenbrun’s I saw the TV Glow leads the nominations for the 16th Dorian Film Awards, with nine nods, including Film of the Year, LGBTQ Film of the Year, Screenplay of the Year, and LGBTQ Screenplay of the Year. Schoenbrun also received a nomination in the Director of the Year category.

Director Steven Soderbergh, with stars Lucy Liu, Chris Sullivan, Callina Liang, Eddy Maday, West Mullholland, Julia Fox and writer David Koepp, attended the New York premiere of Presence.
