The festival will open with National Geographic Documentary Film’s Fire of Love, directed by Sara Dosa. The documentary follows Katia and Maurice Krafft, who loved two things — each other and volcanoes. For two decades, the daring French volcanologist couple were seduced by the thrill and danger of this elemental love triangle.

2022 Seattle International Film Festival to Open to In-person Audiences
Following an all-virtual event last year, the 48th Seattle International Film Festival will return April 14–24, 2022 with a hybrid event that includes both in-person and virtual screenings. The full slate of works announced includes 82 feature-length films representing 28 countries, and 39 of 92 (42%) feature film directors are first-time feature filmmakers.
