Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF) will open its 2019 festival with the world premiere of the documentary The Australian Dream – written by Walkley award-winning Australian journalist Stan Grant. Grant’s moving work is a powerful exploration of race, identity and belonging as told from the perspective of champion AFL footballer and Indigenous rights activist, Adam Goodes.
Sheffield Doc/Fest announced the line-up of 180+ documentary features and shorts for its 26th edition, which runs from 6 to 11 June, 2019, under the tagline “Ways of Seeing” inspired by John Berger’s television series and book of the same name. The festival opens on Thursday June 6 with Diego Maradona, a wild and irreverent look at one of the world’s most iconic sportsmen, both on and off the pitch, during his infamous time in Naples.
The Panorama program lineup of the 69th Berlin International Film Festival is complete, and will feature a total of 45 controversial, political and challenging films from 38 countries. 34 films celebrate their world premiere and 19 of the films are debut works. Among the 45 films are 29 feature films and 16 documentary films.
