Better Man directed by Michael Gracey will open the 36th Palm Springs International Film Festival (PSIFF) taking place from January 2-13, 2025. The film is based on the true story of the meteoric rise, dramatic fall, and remarkable resurgence of British pop superstar Robbie Williams.
Telluride Film Festival announced its official program selections of nearly sixty feature films, short films, and revival programs for the 51st edition taking place over Labor Day weekend from Friday, August 30 through Monday, September 2, 2024.
The 58th Karlovy Vary IFF presented awards for the best films at the closing ceremony with A Sudden Glimpse to Deeper Things directed by Mark Cousins winning the Grand Prix – Crystal Globe. The documentary is an essayistic portrait of a British artist, with deep insights into the world of gender, climate, and creativity. “What a festival, what a hall, what a shock! My film is also about shock, about the transformation of artist Wilhelmina Barns-Graham after she climbed a Swiss glacier in 1949. It’s about a woman who lived her life to the fullest,” said Mark Cousins.
