The Hamptons Doc Fest announced the full film slate for its 13th year, expanded from 5 days to 10 days and running online December 4-13. Sam Pollard’s MLK/FBI kicks off this year’s virtual festival boasting a lineup of 35 films that cover a range of topics including, politics, public health, environment, American history, and the arts.
The European Film Academy announced the nominations for the 33rd European Film Awards. Films nominated for Best European Film include Another Round, Berlin Alexanderplatz, Corpus Christi, Martin Eden, The Painted Bird and Undine. Films nominated for Best European Documentary include Acasa – My Home, Collective (Colectiv), Gunda, Little Girl (Petite Fille), Saudi Runaway and The Cave.
The 43rd Denver Film Festival (DFF43) kicks off tonight, Opening Night, October 22 with Searchlight’s NOMADLAND. The film will also receive DFF43’s Rare Pearl Award which will be accepted by director, Chloé Zhao, in a video presentation before the film screening. The Rare Pearl Award highlights a film whose beauty and uniqueness stand out as finest of the year. Recent Rare Pearl Award winners include Portrait of a Lady on Fire (DFF42) and Roma (DFF41).
International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA) revealed the first films selected for its 33rd edition, including 30 films in the Best of Fests program, and 10 films selected by Gianfranco Rosi for the Top 10 program.

Twelve documentary films from prestigious international film festivals including three Polish films will be competing for a Golden Horn and Silver Horns in the international documentary competition at the 60th Krakow Film Festival which will now take place entirely online due to coronavirus pandemic.
SFFILM has announced the complete lineup for the 2020San Francisco International Film Festival (originally scheduled for April 8–21), though the event itself was canceled due to growing safety concerns amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 2020 Sundance Film Festival’s Awards Ceremony took place last night, with top awards – Grand Jury Prizes awarded to Minari for U.S. Dramatic, Boys State for U.S. Documentary, Epicentro for World Cinema Documentary and Yalda, a Night for Forgiveness for World Cinema Dramatic.

The 2020 Sundance Film Festival revealed the 118 feature-length films, representing 27 countries and 44 first-time feature filmmakers that will be showcased at the upcoming festival. Films range from indie films to star studded cast featuring Meek Mill, Wilmer Valderrama, Elisabeth Moss, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Anne Hathaway, Ben Affleck and more. The Festival hosts screenings in Park City, Salt Lake City and at Sundance Mountain Resort, from January 23 to February 2, 2020.
