Alice starring Keke Palmer and Common The Toronto Black Film Festival (TBFF) celebrates its 10th anniversary, kicking off on February 16 with Krystin Ver Linden’s Canadian premiere of Alice, starring Emmy Award-winning actress, Keke Palmer and Grammy Award-winning rapper, Common. Inspired by the true events Alive tells the story of a woman of servitude who narrowly escapes her oppressor, to discover the surprisingly mind-bending reality that exists beyond the tree line. Then, as of 9pm EST all the films will be accessible online. The Festival will close with Paul Tom’s documentary feature, Alone, about unaccompanied minors who left their home country behind to start over in Canada in hopes to live a better life.

Alice starring Keke Palmer and Common Keke Palmer and Common star in the dramatic thriller Alice, world premiering at 2022 Sundance Film Festival. The film marks the feature debut of Krystin Ver Linden (American Roulette) who was recently named one of Variety’s “10 Directors to Watch” for 2022. Vertical Entertainment and Roadside Attractions acquired the film, and set a theatrical release date of March 18, 2022.

When You Finish Saving the World The 2022 Sundance Film Festival set to take place January 20–30, 2022, announced the films selected in the Feature Film, Indie Episodic, and New Frontier categories. The full slate of works announced includes 82 feature-length films representing 28 countries, and 39 of 92 (42%) feature film directors are first-time feature filmmakers.
