Film at Lincoln Center and The Museum of Modern Art announce the return of the 49th annual New Directors/New Films (ND/NF), rescheduled from March for December 9-20. This year’s festival will introduce 24 features and 10 shorts virtually to audiences nationwide, with films scheduled over the course of 12 days and screening exclusively in the FLC Virtual Cinema.

The 43rd Portland International Film Festival (PIFF 43) announced the lineup featuring 10 days of films, talks, workshops, performances, and special events throughout Portland from March 6 to 15, 2020. The program showcases over 120 films from 40 countries, with sneak previews of upcoming releases including Sony Pictures Classics’ The Climb, Disney/Pixar’s Onward, Searchlight’s David Copperfield, Oscilloscope’s Clementine, and A24’s First Cow.

The American Film Institute announced the films that will play in the New Auteurs, Cinema’s Legacy, Midnight, Shorts and AFI Conservatory Showcase sections at AFI FEST 2019 presented by Audi, completing the festival’s program.
Kazik Radwanski’s Anne at 13,000 ft., which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and received an honorable mention from the Platform Prize jury, was acquired by Cinema Guild for release in the U.S. in 2020.
The Toronto International Film Festival unveiled the 10 features that comprise the Platform competition for 2019. Of the 10 features in this year’s Platform selection, 40% are directed by women. The films hail from a wide range of regions, including Europe, Latin America, East Asia, and the US.
