The Souvenir directed by Joanna Hogg Writer-director Joanna Hogg’s delicate autobiographical drama The Souvenir lead the nominations for the 40th annual London Critics’ Circle Film Awards with 7 nominations, including Film, Screenwriter, Actor (Tom Burke), Supporting Actress (Tilda Swinton) and Young Performer (Honor Swinton Byrne). In addition, the film is nominated for British/Irish Film of the Year.

2019 New Directors/New Films Announces Lineup, Opens with CLEMENCY Starring Alfre Woodard
Alfre Woodard and Alex Castillo appear in Clemency by Chinonye Chokwu This year’s lineup for the 48th annual New Directors/New Films (ND/NF), March 27 to April 7, will introduce 24 features and 11 short films to New York audiences, with 15 films directed or co-directed by women, and 11 works by first-time feature filmmakers.

The festival notes, that the Forum 2019 main program doesn’t consider itself some sort of ‘best of’ list, but rather gathers together a selection of films that try things out, take a stance and refuse to compromise.
