The South Korean horror film Exhuma leads the nominations for the 18th Asian Film Awards in 11 categories including Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Newcomer, Best Screenplay, Best Original Music, Best Costume Design, Best Production Design, Best Visual Effects, and Best Sound.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced the 353 feature films eligible for the 2024 Academy Awards; of which 207 feature films are eligible for consideration in the Best Picture category, which has additional eligibility requirements beyond those for general entry.

Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF) shared an impressive 2024 program of over 250 features, shorts and XR experiences running 8-25 August across Melbourne, around Victoria and online Australia-wide this August.
Anora directed by Sean Baker won the Palme d’or at the 77th Cannes Film Festival. The jury led by Greta Gerwig selected the comedy drama film of Anora, a young sex worker from Brooklyn, who gets her chance at a Cinderella story when she meets and impulsively marries the son of an oligarch. Once the news reaches Russia, her fairytale is threatened as the parents set out for New York to get the marriage annulled.
The 77th Cannes Film Festival set to take place May 14-25, 2024, unveiled the Official Selection films in Competition, Un Certain Regard, Out of Competition, Midnight Screenings, Cannes Premiere and Special Screenings.
