The 8th Annual Weengushk International Film Festival (WIFF) which took place July 11-14, 2024 on Manitoulin Island in Northern Ontario announced the award recipients. Marie Clements received two awards including Best Director and Best Screenplay for her epic film Bones of Crows; as did Cody Lightning – Best Narrative Feature Film and Best Actor for his mockumentary comedy film Hey, Viktor!.

Clara Cullen’s Manuela won Best Narrative Feature and Gisela Delgadillo’s Kenya won Best Documentary Feature at the 25th Anniversary edition of the Cine Las Americas International Film Festival (CLAIFF).

The World Premiere of Mother Of All Shows starring Wendie Malick (Young Sheldon, Hot in Cleveland, Just Shoot Me) kicks off the 13th edition of Art of Brooklyn Film Festival on Thursday, June 1st at Brooklyn’s historic Cobble Hill Cinemas. The film is the story of a woman coping with the impending death of her estranged mother (Malick) by imagining their conflict as a 1970s musical variety show. Wendy will appear with director and co-star Melissa D’Agostino at the premiere, with a Q&A to follow.

The 25th Anniversary edition of Cine Las Americas International Film Festival (CLAIFF), taking place June 7-11, opens with Eva Longoria’s Flamin’ Hot, and will close with Claudia Sainte-Luce comedy Amor y matemáticas (Love and Mathematics).

Toronto International Film Festival announced the 2022 selection for TIFF Docs program, Contemporary World Cinema program, and an additional title in the Discovery program. This lineup features titles from over 50 countries from around the world. Additionally, TIFF announced five documentary sessions as part of the 2022 Industry Conference.
