Afternoons of Solitude (Tardes de soledad) directed by Albert Serra is the winner of the Golden Shell for Best Film at the 72nd San Sebastian Festival. The Silver Shell for Best Director was a tie, shared between Laura Carreira for On Falling and Pedro Martín Calero for The Wailing (El llanto).
Film Movement released the official trailer and the U.S. theatrical dates for ‘Close Your Eyes’, a drama film from celebrated Spanish director Victor Erice (The Spirit of Beehive). The film is Erice’s first feature length film since 1992’s ‘The Quince Tree Sun’. The semi-autobiographical film of director Victor Erice follows an aging filmmaker as he recalls his final and unfinished film following the mysterious disappearance of the lead actor.

The Festival pays tribute to a filmmaker who, with only four feature films to his name, has garnered the Silver Shell for Best Director, Golden Shell for Best Film and the Jury and International Film Critics Prizes at the Festival de Cannes, among many other distinctions.
