The National Board of Review (NBR) has named their 2024 honorees, with top awards going to Wicked for Best Film; Jon M. Chu for Best Director for Wicked; Daniel Craig for Best Actor for Queer; and Nicole Kidman for Best Actress for Babygirl. In addition to winning Best Film, the NBR will present the NBR Spotlight Award to Cynthia Erivo & Ariana Grande for their creative collaboration in Wicked.
AARP The Magazine unveiled the official nominees for their annual Movies For Grownups (MFG) Awards, lead by Conclave with 6 nominations including Best Picture/Best Movie for Grownups, Best Director for Edward Berger, Best Actor for Ralph Fiennes, Best Supporting Actress for Isabella Rossellini, Best Supporting Actor for Stanley Tucci, and Best Screenwriter for Peter Straughan.
Ralph Fiennes, Stanley Tucci, John Lithgow, and Lucian Msamati are expected to be on hand when the cast of Conclave will be honored with the Ensemble Performance Award at the 2025 Palm Springs International Film Awards. The Film Awards will take place on January 3, 2025, at the Palm Springs Convention Center, with the festival running through January 13, 2025.

Emilia Pérez and The Room Next Door lead the nominations for the 37th European Film Awards with four nominations including the top honor of European Film. Emilia Pérez also received nominations for European Director and European Screenwriter for Jacques Audiard, and European Actress for Karla Sofía Gascón.
Ralph Fiennes will receive the Outstanding Performer of the Year Award at the 40th Santa Barbara International Film Festival for his performance as Cardinal Lawrence in Conclave.
The Edward Berger drama Conclave alongside other acclaimed titles Sam Yates’ feature debut, Magpie, Steve McQueens’ WWII drama Blitz, A Real Pain directed by Jesse Eisenberg, Ash Avildsen directed Queen of the Ring, and Nickel Boys directed by RaMell Ross, are the finalists for the Best Feature Film Award at the 15th Twin Cities Film Festival (TCFF).

For the lighthearted films, modern-day Beauty and the Beast, Your Monster, starring Melissa Barrera, and Stavros Halkias-led comedy Let’s Start a Cult are also coming to the big screen. Daisey Ridley-led neo-noir, Magpie, brings suspense to the theaters, and for fans of superhero movies, Venom: The Last Dance closes the Venom trilogy movies.
