Rian Johnson’s Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery opens the line-up for the 9th annual Miami Film Festival GEMS taking place November 3-10. GEMS 2022 festival will feature two Centerpiece Screenings of the ensemble drama Women Talking and Brendan Fraser drama The Whale, and close with Steven Spielberg’s The Fabelmans.

IFC Films debuted the official trailer for Corsage, the period drama starring Vicky Krieps, Florian Teichtmeister, Jeanne Werner, Alma Hasan, Finnegan, Colin Morgan. The film has been selected to represent Austria at the 2023 Academy Awards in the Best International Feature category.

The 28th Sarajevo Film Festival closed with the world premiere of film May Labour Day by Pjer Žalica. Safe Place by Croatian director Juraj Lerotić won the Heart of Sarajevo for Best Feature Film along with Heart of Sarajevo for Best Actor for Juraj Lerotić. A traumatic event, a sudden suicide attempt, tears the fabric of a family of three in the film inspired by personal experience of the director, Jurja Lerotić, who also won the Best Actor prize for playing the main role in the film.
The European Film Academy Board has chosen 30 films to be part of the Academy´s Feature Film Selection 2022 for the European Film Awards. The Feature Film Selection includes films that the Board of the Academy recommends to all Academy members for a nomination for the European Film Awards 2022. In a second part, 10-15 further titles for the Feature Film Selection will be announced in September.
