
The 40th Santa Barbara International Film Festival (SBIFF), set to take place February 4 to 15, 2025, announced the lineup of films from 60 countries.

The Brazilian Oscar entry I’m Still Here won the FIPRESCI Prize for Best International Feature Film at the 36th Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival (PSIFF). Directed by Walter Salles, the film stars Fernanda Torres and Fernanda Montenegro as Eunice Paiva, a mother of five children coping with the forced disappearance of her husband, the dissident politician Rubens Paiva, during the military dictatorship in Brazil in the 1970s.

Better Man directed by Michael Gracey will open the 36th Palm Springs International Film Festival (PSIFF) taking place from January 2-13, 2025. The film is based on the true story of the meteoric rise, dramatic fall, and remarkable resurgence of British pop superstar Robbie Williams.

Color Book directed by David Fortune won the award for Narrative Feature and Desert Angel directed by Vincent DeLuca won for Documentary Feature at the 31st Austin Film Festival and Writers Conference in Austin, Texas.
