Marriage Story won three top prizes at the 2019 Indiana Film Journalists Association (IFJA) awards – including Best Film, Best Actor (Adam Driver), and Best Original Screenplay (Noah Baumbach).

Writer-director Joanna Hogg’s delicate autobiographical drama The Souvenir lead the nominations for the 40th annual London Critics’ Circle Film Awards with 7 nominations, including Film, Screenwriter, Actor (Tom Burke), Supporting Actress (Tilda Swinton) and Young Performer (Honor Swinton Byrne). In addition, the film is nominated for British/Irish Film of the Year.

The Favourite directed by Yorgos Lanthimos was the big winner at this year’s 32nd European Film Awards taking the top prize European Film 2019, along with European Comedy 2019, in addition to European Director 2019 for Yorgos Lanthimos, and European Actress 2019 for Olivia Colman. The film also won the technical awards – European Costume Design 2019, European Cinematography 2019, European Editing 2019, and European Hair & Make-Up 2019.

The National Board of Review announced their 2019 honorees, naming The Irishman the Best Film of 2019, and honored Martin Scorsese, Robert De Niro, along with Al Pacino with the NBR Icon Award. Quentin Tarantino was named Best Director for Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood, Renée Zellweger for Best Actress for Judy, and Adam Sandler for Best Actor for Uncut Gems.
