    Healing From Hate: Battle for the Soul of a Nation is the new documentary from filmmaker Peter Hutchison (Requiem for the American Dream) that examines the root cause of hate group activity and following efforts by former extremists to de-radicalize white nationalists. The film, an official selection of DOC NYC and Big Sky Documentary Film Festival, opens September 4, 2020 in Los Angeles – Laemmle Theaters via virtual cinema.

  • Documentary HEALING FROM HATE to World Premiere at DOC NYC

    Members of the National Socialist Movement march down the streets of Columbia, South Carolina to the steps of the State Capital building. April 21, 2007., Columbia, S.C. They rally to protest the "3rd world invasion" of illegal immigrants and the thousands of Mexicans shutting down major cities demonstrating against border reform and their refusal to assimilate into American culture. During the rally, the NSM announced their third party candidate for the upcoming US Presidential election John Taylor Bowles. Bowles is a veteran of the United States Air Force and has been in the NSM for over 30 years. The National Socialist Movement had upwards of 100 supporting members and were met by a vocal crowd of counter protesters. A large police and federal presence kept the event free from incident.     DOC NYC, America’s largest documentary festival, announced the full lineup for its expanded tenth anniversary edition, running November 6-15 at the IFC Center in Greenwich Village and Chelsea’s SVA Theatre and Cinépolis Chelsea. The 2019 festival includes 136 feature-length documentaries among over 300 films and events overall, making this landmark year DOC NYC’s biggest edition yet.
