The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced the 353 feature films eligible for the 2024 Academy Awards; of which 207 feature films are eligible for consideration in the Best Picture category, which has additional eligibility requirements beyond those for general entry.
AARP The Magazine unveiled the official nominees for their annual Movies For Grownups (MFG) Awards, lead by Conclave with 6 nominations including Best Picture/Best Movie for Grownups, Best Director for Edward Berger, Best Actor for Ralph Fiennes, Best Supporting Actress for Isabella Rossellini, Best Supporting Actor for Stanley Tucci, and Best Screenwriter for Peter Straughan.
This year’s 38th AFI FEST taking place in Los Angeles from October 23 to October 27 rounds out the slate of already announced titles with a full lineup of 158 films including September 5 directed by Tim Fehlbaum, All We Imagine As Light directed by Payal Kapadia, The Luckiest Man In America directed by Samir Oliveros (AFI Class of 2019), Zurawski V Texas from executive producers Hillary Clinton, Chelsea Clinton and Jennifer Lawrence and directors Maisie Crow and Abbie Perrault, and Oh, Canada directed by Paul Schrader (AFI Class of 1969).
