
The 40th Santa Barbara International Film Festival (SBIFF), set to take place February 4 to 15, 2025, announced the lineup of films from 60 countries.

Tyler Nilson and Michael Schwartz’s Cuba-set early ‘90s coming of age tale Los Frikis won the Narrative Feature Audience Award at the 29th annual Nantucket Film Festival® (NFF). Brendan Bellomo and Slava Leontyev’s Porcelain War, focused on Ukrainians using their art to resist during war, was the recipient of the Documentary Feature Audience Award. Puppy Love, directed by Daniel Rashid and written by Rashid and Elizabeth Valenti, about a woman who has to decide if her connection with a new man is a deep one or if she just likes his dog, received the Narrative Short Film Audience Award. Tom Dey’s Jumpman, profiling the photographer behind the iconic Michael Jordan mid-air shot, took home the Documentary Short Film Audience Award.

The 29th Nantucket Film Festival (NFF) which will run from June 19 – 24, 2024, unveiled its lineup, honorees, and Signature Programs.

The 2024 DocLands Documentary Film Festival taking place Thursday, May 2 – Sunday, May 5, 2024, unveiled the lineup of films including world premieres of From Here/From There (De Aquí/De Allá), I Hope This Helps!, Make A Circle, and Not Just A Goof, alongside the North American Premiere of Living with Wolves and the US premieres of 500 Days in The Wild and Hunt for the Oldest DNA.

Opening night film Ezra directed by Tony Goldwyn won the Audience Award for best feature film at the 13th Sun Valley Film Festival (SVFF) which took place from February 28 – March 3, 2024, screening 20 narrative and documentary features, 37 shorts, and three episodics. Bobby Cannavale won the inaugural Best Performance in a Film Award for his role in the film.

DOC NYC, America’s largest documentary festival returns in-person November 9-17 and continues online through November 27, presenting more than 110 feature-length documentaries among over 200 films and dozens of events.

Toronto International Film Festival announced the 2022 selection for TIFF Docs program, Contemporary World Cinema program, and an additional title in the Discovery program. This lineup features titles from over 50 countries from around the world. Additionally, TIFF announced five documentary sessions as part of the 2022 Industry Conference.
