Nominations were revealed today for the film and television categories of the 2024 Film Independent Spirit Awards with American Fiction, May December and Past Lives leading the film nominations with five each.

In the film starring Emma Stone, Mark Ruffalo, Willem Dafoe, Ramy Youssef, Christopher Abbott, and Jerrod Carmichael, a young Victorian woman, Bella, is brought back to life by brilliant and unorthodox scientist Dr. Godwin Baxter.

Jonathan Glazer’s The Zone of Interest will open the Perlak lineup of San Sebastian Festival’s 71st edition. This free adaptation of the homonymous novel by Martin Amis, portraying the everyday life of a German family who live beside Auschwitz, earned the British director the Grand Prix at the Festival de Cannes.
