Killers of the Flower Moon directed by Martin Scorsese was named Best Picture of 2023 along with the honor of Best Actress for Lily Gladstone, by the Boston Online Film Critics Association (BOFCA).

Hayao Miyazaki’s The Boy and the Heron was named Best Picture of 2023 by the Florida Film Critics Circle, making history as the first time an animated film won the top prize. The film also won Best Animated Film and Best Score for Joe Hisaishi.

Todd Haynes’s May December, Kelly Reichardt’s Showing Up, and Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon claimed the top spots among films released in the U.S. in 2023 on Film Comment’s annual end-of-year survey. Of the films that screened at festivals worldwide but have not yet announced stateside distribution, Eduardo Williams’s The Human Surge 3, Lisandro Alonso’s Eureka, and Víctor Erice’s Close Your Eyes received top rankings.

The Los Angeles Film Critics Association (LAFCA) voted The Zone of Interest the Best Picture of 2023, along with Best Director for Jonathan Glazer, Best Actress for Sandra Hüller (who also won for The Zone of Interest) and Best Music/Score.

Killers Of The Flower Moon won the top honor of Best Film of 2023 by the New York Film Critics Circle (NYFCC) annual awards representing the best in film. The film also won the honor of Best Actress for Lily Gladstone.

31st Hamptons International Film Festival (HIFF) unveiled the full lineup of films with Bradley Cooper’s Maestro as closing night film along with “A Conversation with…” Series with Paul Simon. Filmmaker Celine Song will also attend the festival for a Special Screening of her latest narrative feature Past Lives, and will receive the festival’s Breakthrough Artist Award.

Kendi, and Canadian icon Mr. Dressup are among the 2023 selection for the Toronto International Film Festival’s TIFF Docs program featuring 22 titles from 12 countries around the world.
