Sony Pictures Classics announced that they will now release Eva Husson’s Mothering Sunday in theaters in New York and Los Angeles on March 25, 2022 before expanding to other markets over the following weeks. The film previously received a one-week qualifying run in Los Angeles in November 2021, making it eligible for all potential awards. Star Olivia Colman has since received recognition from the London Critics’ Circle Film Awards, earning a nomination for “British/Irish Actress of the Year.”

Sony Pictures Classics will release Mothering Sunday directed by Eva Husson in theaters in New York and Los Angeles on February 25, 2022 before expanding to other markets over the following weeks. The film will also receive a one-week qualifying run at The Landmark in Los Angeles starting November 17, 2021, qualifying the film for all potential awards.

The 24th annual SCAD Savannah Film Festival returns in-person and virtually from October 23–30, 2021 with 157 films, including 45 narrative feature films, 15 documentary feature films and 97 shorts – with 63 of these films directed by women.

Sony Pictures Classics acquired Mothering Sunday directed by Eva Husson (Girls of the Sun) and starring Odessa Young (Assassination Nation), Josh O’Connor (The Crown), Colin Firth (The King’s Speech), Olivia Colman (The Favourite) along with Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù (Gangs of London). The film is written by Alice Birch (Normal People, Succession), who adapted the screenplay from Graham Swift’s critically acclaimed and best-selling novel of the same name.
