
The Producers Guild of America (PGA) announced the documentary feature films nominated for Outstanding Producer of Documentary Motion Pictures at the 34th Annual Producers Guild Awards.

Sara Dosa’s Fire of Love leads the nominations for the 38th annual International Documentary Association (IDA)Documentary Awards, earning 5 nods including Best Feature Documentary, Best Director, Best Editing, Best Cinematography and Best Writing.

Sara Dosa’s Fire of Love and Alex Pritz’ The Territory lead the nominees for the 16th Cinema Eye Honors Annual Awards celebrating outstanding artistry and craft in nonfiction filmmaking, with seven nominations each, tying the record for most Cinema Eye nominations in a single year. Shaunak Sen’s Cannes-winning feature, All That Breathes, received six nominations, and Laura Poitras’ All the Beauty and the Bloodshed, winner of the Golden Lion at Venice, received four.

Presented by Alec Baldwin, the HamptonsFilm SummerDocs series returns for its fourteenth year, with the series kicking off with Fire of Love, directed by Sara Dosa, on Saturday, June 25. Navalny, directed by Daniel Roher, screens on July 23 and the series concludes with Nothing Lasts Forever, directed by Jason Kohn, on August 12.

Warner Bros. Pictures will release NAVALNY, the documentary about Alexey Navalny, the Russian dissident and presidential candidate who was the target of a 2020 assassination attempt. The documentary premiered to critical and audience acclaim at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival and won both the Audience Award in the U.S. Documentary competition, and the Festival Favorite Award.

The 48th Seattle International Film Festival, will be held April 14-24, 2022, screening 262 films representing 80 countries, including 107 narrative features, 41 documentaries, three archival films, two works-in-progress, and 107 short films.

The 65th annual San Francisco International Film Festival will make its return to theaters in person, featuring more than 130 films from 56 countries, including 16 World and 10 North American premieres. The Festival will also celebrate cinematic icon Michelle Yeoh with a special tribute to be presented by critically acclaimed actor Sandra Oh. The 2022 Festival will run April 21–May 1.

Daniel Roher’s “pulse-pounding” documentary Navalny will open the 48th Seattle International Film Festival on Thursday, April 14 at The Paramount Theatre.

The 46th Cleveland International Film Festival will kick off its in-person return and 11-day run at its new home at Playhouse Square with Peace By Chocolate directed by Jonathan Keijser, an inspiring narrative story of working together and overcoming unimaginable hardship.

Navalny, Daniel Roher’s revealing documentary thriller about Russian opposition leader and anti-corruption activist, Alexei Navalny has been added to the lineup of the 2022 Sundance Film Festival. The film is now the tenth and final film in the U.S. Documentary Competition section and will World Premiere on January 25, 2022.
