No One Asked You, a documentary centering on comedian and co-creator of the Daily Show Lizz Winstead as she tours across the US fighting for abortion rights, world premiered last year at the 2023 DOC NYC Film Festival. The documentary has since played at the 26th Sarasota Film Festival and the 21st Oxford Film Festival where it got the honorable mention for Best Documentary Feature.
The 21st Oxford Film Festival announced the winners with jury award for Best Narrative Feature going to Erika Arlee’s A Song for Imogene and Best Documentary Feature went to The Blues Society directed by Augusta Palmer. Rising Hope directed by Theo Avgerinos won the Audience Award Feature Film along with Best Mississippi Documentary Feature.
The East Coast Premiere of Lynn Dow’s Bull Street starring Loretta Devine and Amy Madigan opens the 26th Sarasota Film Festival taking place across Sarasota April 5 through April 14, 2024. The festival will close with a special presentation of Steve Buscemi’s The Listener starring Tessa Thompson.
Clair Titley’s The Contestant will open the 14th DOC NYC, America’s largest documentary festival — running in-person November 8-16 and continuing online through November 26, presenting more than 105 feature-length documentaries .
