The 31st annual Palm Springs International Film Festival (PSIFF) will screen 188 films from 81 countries, opening with An Almost Ordinary Summer, directed by Simone Godano, on Friday, January 3, and close with Military Wives, directed by Peter Cattaneo on Sunday, January 12.
Over six days from October 29 to November 3, the 61st Lübeck Nordic Film Days (Nordische Filmtage Lübeck) will host 283 screenings of a total of 196 films, featuring films by well-known directors and fascinating newcomers from the Scandinavian and Baltic countries. The epicenter of the festival is the Competition section, which this year comprises 18 narrative features.

An international feature film is defined as a feature-length motion picture (more than 40 minutes) produced outside the United States with a predominantly non-English dialogue track. Ghana, Nigeria and Uzbekistan are first-time entrants.

The Berlin International Film Festival today finalized the lineup for the 2019 Competition and Berlinale Special sections. In the Competition, 17 of a total of 23 selected films will be vying for the Golden Bear and Silver Bears. 20 of the films will be celebrating their world premiere at the festival.
Films by Agnès Varda, Agnieszka Holland, Hans Petter Moland, Isabel Coixet and Wang Quan’an are among 11 films added to the Competition lineup of the 69th edition of the Berlin International Film Festival. Six more including The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind, the feature film debut of Chiwetel Ejiofor, have also been selected for the program of the Berlinale Special.
