Cinema Tropical announced its annual list of Best Latin American Films of the Year, 25 Latin American titles and five U.S. Latinx.
The Mexican film Prayers For the Stolen won both the FIPRESCI and Ibero-American Award Prizes at the 33rd Palm Springs International Film Festival.
Prayers for the Stolen (Noche de fuego) opens in select theaters I November and on Netflix in the U.S. on November 17.
AFI FEST unveiled the full lineup for this year’s festival including Parallel Mothers, directed by Academy Award winner Pedro Almodóvar.
This year’s competitions will include the International Premiere of Franziska Stünkel’s The Last Execution.
Last year the winning film was Never Rarely Sometimes Always, by Eliza Hittman.
AFI Latin American Film Festival will open with Mexican director Alonso Ruizpalacios’ A Cop Movie.
Horizontes Latinos at San Sebastian Festival will open with the world premiere of Jesús López by Argentine director Maximiliano Schonfeld.
