The International Press Academy (IPA) announced the winners of the 25th Satellite™ Awards in Motion Pictures and Television with Nomadland taking the award for Motion Picture, Drama along with Director for Chloé Zhao, and Actress in a Motion Picture Drama for Frances McDormand.
Chloé Zhao’s Nomadland is the big winner this year with the Seattle Film Critics Society (“SFCS”), landing five 2020 Seattle Film Critics Society Awards, including Best Picture of the Year. The film also earned Zhao the Best Director award and a win for Best Film Editing. Frances McDormand was named Best Actress in a Leading Role, while Joshua James Richards’ work behind the camera secured a win for Best Cinematography.
Lee Isaac Chung’s autobiographical drama Minari took the top honor of Best Picture for the Utah Film Critics Association 2020 awards.

Netflix’s “Mank,” leads the film nominations for the 26th annual Critics Choice Awards with an impressive 12 nominations including Best Picture. “Minari” (A24) followed closely behind with 10 nominations including Best Picture, Best Actor for Steven Yeun, Best Supporting Actress for Yuh-Jung Youn, Best Young Actor/Actress for Alan Kim, Best Acting Ensemble, Best Director for Lee Isaac Chung, Best Original Screenplay for Lee Isaac Chung, Best Cinematography for Lachlan Milne, Best Foreign Language Film, and Best Score for Emile Mosseri.

Emerald Fennell’s Promising Young Woman topped the list of nominees for the 4th Annual Hollywood Critics Association Film Awards with a total of nine nominations. The film, which received rave reviews after its premiere at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival, was nominated for Best Picture, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Female Director, Best Original Screenplay, Best First Feature, Best Cast Ensemble, Best Hair & Makeup, and Best Film Editing.
