The documentary Dahomey by Mati Diop won the Golden Bear for Best Film at the 74th Berlin International Film Festival. The film documents the return of 26 royal treasures of the Kingdom of Dahomey from Paris, returning to their country of origin, the present-day Republic of Benin.

Levan Akin’s film Crossing will open the 2024 Panorama program of 74th Berlin International Film Festival, set to showcase 31 titles from 36 countries. The Panorama program includes new works by André Téchiné, Thomas Arslan, Birgitte Stærmose, David-Pierre Fila, Annie Baker, Dag Johan Haugerud, Bruce LaBruce and Nathan Silver. Also in the program is the four-part anthology series Zeit Verbrechen.

The 2024 Sundance Film Festival announced the 82 films, eight episodic titles, and a New Frontier interactive experience selected the 40th edition of the Festival taking place January 18–28, 2024, in person in Park City and Salt Lake City, with a selection of titles available online nationwide from January 25–28, 2024.
