The Brutalist was awarded the honor of Best Picture of 2024 by the Phoenix Critics Circle along with Best Director for Brady Corbet, Best Actor for Adrien Brody, and Best Score.

Edward Berger’s Conclave lead the 9 nominations for the 2024 Alliance of Women Film Journalists (AWFJ), with 9, including Best Film, Best Director, Best Supporting Actress for Isabella Rossellini, Best Actor fot Ralph Fiennes, Best Supporting Actor for Stanley Tucci, and Best Ensemble Cast .

Wicked won Best Feature and The Brutalist nabbed Best Director for Brady Corbet, at the 2024 Washington DC Area Film Critics Association (WAFCA).

The Michigan Movie Critics Guild unveiled its nominees for the best films and performances of 2024 lead by Anora, The Brutalist and Wicked, all tied for the most nominations, with six each. All 3 films received nominations for best picture, acting and directing.

The National Board of Review (NBR) has named their 2024 honorees, with top awards going to Wicked for Best Film; Jon M. Chu for Best Director for Wicked; Daniel Craig for Best Actor for Queer; and Nicole Kidman for Best Actress for Babygirl. In addition to winning Best Film, the NBR will present the NBR Spotlight Award to Cynthia Erivo & Ariana Grande for their creative collaboration in Wicked.

Making his second collaboration with screenwriter Justin Kuritzkes after this year’s Challengers, Oscar-nominated director of Call Me by Your Name, Luca Guadagnino returns with Queer, a historical romantic drama based on William S. Burroughs’ 1985 novel of the same name. The film starring Daniel Craig and Drew Starkey follows an American expat’s romance with a young student.
