
The Atlanta Film Critics Circle chose Sean Baker’s Anora as its top film of 2024 along with Best Original Screenplay, and Best Lead Actress plus Best Breakthrough Performer awards for Mikey Madison.

The Boston Society of Film Critics (BSFC) announced its winners for the 45th annual awards for achievements in film, honoring Anora with Best Film honors, along with Best Director and Best Original Screenplay for Sean Baker, Best Actress for Mikey Madison.

Wicked won Best Feature and The Brutalist nabbed Best Director for Brady Corbet, at the 2024 Washington DC Area Film Critics Association (WAFCA).

Sean Baker’s Anora nabbed Best Picture at the 50th Los Angeles Film Critics Association (LAFCA) Awards, along with Best Lead Performance for Mikey Madison in a tie with Marianne Jean-Baptiste for Hard Truths; and Best Supporting Performance Yura Borisov also in tie with Kieran Culkin for A Real Pain.

The Michigan Movie Critics Guild unveiled its nominees for the best films and performances of 2024 lead by Anora, The Brutalist and Wicked, all tied for the most nominations, with six each. All 3 films received nominations for best picture, acting and directing.

The Seattle Film Critics Society unveiled nominations for the 2024 SFCS Awards, honoring the year’s best in film.

The American Film Institute (AFI) has revealed the AFI Awards 2024 honorees comprised of the 10 outstanding motion pictures and 10 outstanding television programs deemed culturally and artistically representative of this year’s most significant achievements in the art of the moving image.

The National Board of Review (NBR) has named their 2024 honorees, with top awards going to Wicked for Best Film; Jon M. Chu for Best Director for Wicked; Daniel Craig for Best Actor for Queer; and Nicole Kidman for Best Actress for Babygirl. In addition to winning Best Film, the NBR will present the NBR Spotlight Award to Cynthia Erivo & Ariana Grande for their creative collaboration in Wicked.

Anora and I Saw the TV Glow lead the nominations for the 40th Film Independent Spirit Awards with six each.

Aaron Schimberg’s A Different Man was crowned Best Feature at the 34th The Gothams awards held tonight in New York City. Best International Feature went to Payal Kapadia’s All We Imagine as Light and the Palestinian film No Other Land directed by Yuval Abraham, Basel Adra, Rachel Szor, Hamdan Ballal won for Best Documentary Feature.
