Filmocracy will reprise its groundbreaking Film Festival with the second Festival set to run December 9th through December 12th. Filmocracy will present a robust slate of features and shorts, many of them award winners and social impact documentaries.

Virginia Film Festival is back in-person in its 34th year with a vibrant and diverse program of more than 85 films, including 60 features, and an outstanding lineup of special guests and discussions. The 2021 VAFF will feature theatrical presentations as well as reprise last year’s popular drive-in series at the picturesque Morven Farm in eastern Albemarle County.

Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival will kick off its 30th edition with the Opening Night presentation of Samuel D. Pollard and Rex Miller’s Citizen Ashe, followed by the Centerpiece Selections of E. Chai Vasarhelyi and Jimmy Chin’s The Rescue and CJ Hunt’s The Neutral Ground, with Julie Cohen and Betsy West’s Julia screening on Closing Night.

The 23rd edition of Sidewalk Film Festival, the Birmingham-based film festival will take place August 23-29, 2021, with Jeff Daniels’ Television Event as the Opening Night film and Jim Cummings and PJ McCabe’s The Beta Test will be the Closing Night screening.

AFI DOCS 2021 concluded the six-day festival with the festival’s Audience Award for Best Feature going to Storm Lake, directed by Jerry Risius and Beth Levison. The Audience Award for Best Short went to Shelter, directed by Smriti Mundhra.
