The 31st edition of Sheffield DocFest set for June 12-17, 2024 unveiled the full program of 109 films including the World premieres of Tilda Swinton’s feature directorial debut alongside filmmaker Bartek Dziadosz The Hexagonal Hive and a Mouse in a Maze and the latest film from Croatian director Goran Devic, Pavilion 6.
Alejandra Vasquez and Sam Osborn’s Going Varsity in Mariachi will open the 26th Anniversary edition of Cine Las Americas International Film Festival (CLAIFF) in Austin, Texas. Taking place May 15-19, 2024 CLAIFF will close with Lone Scherfig’s La Contadora de Peliculas (The Movie Teller).
DC/DOX documentary film festival in the nation’s capital unveiled the lineup including films on Christopher Reeve in Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story, Luther Vandross in Luther: Never Too Much, Ani DeFranco in 1-800-ON-HER-OWN, and designer Diane Von Furstenberg in Diane Von Furstenberg: Woman in Charge.

The 29th Nantucket Film Festival (NFF) which will run from June 19 – 24, 2024, unveiled its lineup, honorees, and Signature Programs.
The 50th Seattle International Film Festival will showcase a lineup of 261 films representing 84 countries/regions, including 92 features, 47 documentaries, five archival features, two special tributes, two secret screenings, and 115 short films. The festival takes place held May 9–19, 2024 at venues across Seattle and followed by a week of select virtual screenings on the SIFF Channel May 20–27.
Hollywoodgate by Egyptian filmmaker Ibrahim Nash’at took the Grand Jury Award at the 2024 Full Frame Documentary Film Festival. With an interpreter by his side Nash’at documents a Taliban group taking control of a former CIA base nicknamed “Hollywoodgate” just days after the U.S. Army’s controversial withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021.
The 2024 DocLands Documentary Film Festival taking place Thursday, May 2 – Sunday, May 5, 2024, unveiled the lineup of films including world premieres of From Here/From There (De Aquí/De Allá), I Hope This Helps!, Make A Circle, and Not Just A Goof, alongside the North American Premiere of Living with Wolves and the US premieres of 500 Days in The Wild and Hunt for the Oldest DNA.
The East Coast Premiere of Lynn Dow’s Bull Street starring Loretta Devine and Amy Madigan opens the 26th Sarasota Film Festival taking place across Sarasota April 5 through April 14, 2024. The festival will close with a special presentation of Steve Buscemi’s The Listener starring Tessa Thompson.
Full Frame Documentary Film Festival announced the lineup of 50 titles including 35 features and 15 short films from 22 countries, for the the 26th edition of the festival taking place April 4–7, 2024 in historic downtown Durham, N.C.
The Sun Valley Film Festival (SVFF), running from February 28 – March 3, 2024 will screen 20 narrative and documentary features, 37 shorts, and three episodics. The festival will kick off with opening night film Ezra directed by Tony Goldwyn and starring Bobby Cannavale, Rose Byrne and Robert DeNiro; and closing night film is the documentary Sugarcane directed by Julian Brave NoiseCat and Emily Kassie.
In The Summers directed by Alessandra Lacorazza won the U.S. Grand Jury Prize: Dramatic at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival. In the film two sisters navigate their loving but volatile father during their yearly summer visits to his home in Las Cruces, New Mexico.
