Laura Poitras’ All the Beauty and the Bloodshed won the Golden Lion for Best Film at the 79th Venice Film Festival. The documentary chronicles the photographer and activist Nan Goldin and her crusade to hold Purdue Pharma, owned by the Sackler family, accountable for the opioid epidemic.
The 49th Telluride Film Festival unveiled its official program selections of nearly ninety feature films, short films, and revival programs representing twenty-five countries, along with special artist Tributes, Conversations, Panels, Student Programs, and Festivities. Telluride Film Festival takes place Friday, September 2 – Monday, September 5, 2022.
Focus Features debuted a teaser trailer for Tár starring Cate Blanchett as the iconic musician Lydia Tár. Also starring in the film are Noémie Merlant, Nina Hoss, Sophie Kauer, Julian Glover, Allan Corduner, and Mark Strong.
