IFC Films revealed the official trailer for The Almond and the Seahorse, the poignant, and moving drama, based on the play by Kaite O’Reilly, starring Rebel Wilson, Celyn Jones, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Meera Syal, and Trine Dyrholm. In the film, Rebel Wilson stars as an archaeologist and Charlotte Gainsbourg as an architect fighting to re-imagine a future after a traumatic brain injury leaves them adrift from the people they love.
Ahead of its World Premiere at the Zurich Film Festival, IFC Films acquired The Almond and the Seahorse, starring Rebel Wilson (Pitch Perfect, Jojo Rabbit, The Hustle, Bridesmaids) in her first dramatic role. The film is based on the successful theater production of the same name by award-winning playwright Kaite O’Reilly. Also starring in the film are Charlotte Gainsbourg (Melancholia, 21 Grams, The Snowman), Trine Dyrholm (Queen of Hearts, Nico 1988, The Commune, The Legacy), Meera Syal and Celyn Jones.
Actress Charlotte Gainsbourg will be honored with the prestigious Golden Eye award for her outstanding career and versatility, and present her new film The Almond and the Seahorse as a world premiere at the 18th Zurich Film Festival.
