For the second year, the Critics Association of Central Florida (CACF) announced the winners and runners-up of the best in film for 2022, naming Everything Everywhere All at Once the Best Picture of the year along with wins for Best Director along with Best Screenplay for the Daniels, Best Actress for Michelle Yeoh, and Best Supporting Actor for Ke Huy Quan.

Everything Everywhere All At Once continued its winning streak, nabbing 5 awards including Best Film of the Year at the 2022 Oklahoma Film Critics Circle (OFCC) awards. The film also received Best Director along with Original Screenplay for Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, Supporting Actress for Jamie Lee Curtis, and Supporting Actor for Ke Huy Quan

The Banshees of Inisherin is the top film at the Greater Western New York Film Critics Association’s fifth annual end-of-year Film Awards, receiving 5 wins including Best Picture of 2022, along with Best Director plus Original Screenplay for Martin McDonagh, Lead Actor for Colin Farrell, and Supporting Actress for Kerry Condon.

In their 16th annual awards season, the Alliance of Women Film Journalists awarded The Banshees of Inishern the top honor – Best Film of 2022. Overall, three films – The Banshees of Inishern, Everything Everywhere All at Once and Women Talking tied for the most Alliance of Women Film Journalists Awards, each winning four EDAs.

Everything Everywhere All at Once snagged nine awards along with the honor of Best Narrative Film of 2023 at the North Carolina Film Critics Association eleventh annual awards for achievements in film. The film also won Best Director for the Daniels, Best Actress for Michelle Yeoh, Best Supporting Actor for Ke Huy Quan, Best Supporting Actress for Stephanie Hsu, Best Original Screenplay, Best Acting Ensemble, Best Editing, and Best Production Design. Nine wins is the most for any film in the history of the North Carolina Film Critics Association’s Best of Cinema annual honors.

The South Korean film Decision to Leave is the top winner with the Florida Film Critics Circle, winning four awards including Best International Film of 2022, Best Director for Park Chan-wook plus Best Original Screenplay along with co-writer Jeong Seo-kyeong and Best Cionematography for Kim Ji-yong.

Sight and Sound, the BFI’s international film magazine chose Charlotte Wells’ Aftersun, which recently won 7 BIFAs as the Best Film of the Year. Paul Mescal and newcomer Frankie Corio give astonishing performances as a father and daughter on holiday in Turkey in the late 1990s, in this moving and reflective feature debut. Alice Diop’s Saint Omer came in at 2nd place and Park Chanwook’s DECISION TO LEAVE in 3rd place.
